441 is now open between Gatlinburg and Cherokee. Also Cove Road going into Cataloochee Valley is open but is one lane only in one section.
Just a quick note to say that we have changed all of our Two bedded rooms to TWO Queens.
Prior to this we had a mix of 2 Queens in some and 2 Full beds in others.
The ski area is in great shape. It took a while but the base is excellent throughout and February is always (well usually) the most consistent month to find great skiing here in the south. Don’t forget if you are able to ski on the weekdays we offer kids ski free tickets and have a drive stay ski program as well.
Everyone should be aware that a major mud slide from last weeks torrential rains has closed 441 between Gatlinburg and Cherokee. We are not sure how long it will be closed yet however it will be several weeks at least. Parts of this area had as much as 15 inches of rain and there were many slides in the mountains.
A new tubing park is opening this weekend, Jan 5th. I have not seen it yet but it will be offering both winter tubing and summer tubing during the warm months. We are excited to have a new exciting fun thing to do in Maggie Valley. It is located about half way up the mountain towards The Cataloochee Ski area.

The untimely rain has just turned over to snow up at the ski area. They are also making snow. Conditions will continue to improve this week as colder nights and some potential snowfall will make the skiers much happier!!
Wow, It’s hard to believe it’s summer already. It’s shaping up to be a really good one. We hope you are finding things getting better to!
Weve done a lot of work this spring getting everything into shape for the year. An hour or two ago I sat outside in the back listening to the creek and realized I don’t do that often enough. It’s truly amazing how the creek and park setting can take all your stress away so quickly.
